Yup. I sometimes have a hard time thinking of things to say on my blog (I'm the only one, right?!), but in my defense, it's because I type most of my thoughts in my Twitter and Facebook updates/posts. I know that sometimes I need to post in here though, since I guess a few people like to read here as well, so here goes. This is my twist on B's post "Saturday Snippets":
I am thinking...For some reason, this is the first Fall where I really hate that it gets darker, earlier, and thus giving me less daylight to do what I want. I mean, since it's so nice outside now, I could get certain things done in the garage/outside at nights and not bake from the normal Houston sun.
I am thankful for...my family. Hands down. Each day my wife and kiddos do things that make me love them more. Whether it's just watching them watch tv while I blog, and seeing their childesh amazement at Dora the Explorer, or another person in the house, fixing a haircut she got by cutting her own hair.
I am wearing... jeans and my Drake University shirt that my sis-in-law got me years ago. STILL LOVE IT, AUT! ;)
I am remembering... how I did well losing weight over a year ago, and how I aspire to be that man again, so I can be healthier and around longer for my family. I want to see any Grandkids that I will be blessed with.
I am going... to walk in place during the Biggest Loser commercials tonight, to not just be a TOTAL lazy bum while watching tv tonight.
I am reading... A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller
I am hoping... that I will be rid of this eating curse, and can enjoy life even more with it gone.
On my mind... will we ever get our finances totally in order, or is that something that everyone deals with their entire lives?
Noticing that... I love evenings when we have sports with the kids, but I LOVE when we have a break for a night or two and can *breathe*.
From the kitchen... paid bills sitting next to me (just paid 'em), dishwasher running, clean counters, lots of healthy goodies I see for options during cravings and breakfast, and loving that I am loving seeing that again. (yes, I said that correctly)
Around the house...pretty clean for having four kids who tend to forget it more often than not.
One of my favorite things...the feeling of pride after a Hawkeye win! Oh yea, and listening to my children giggle. *I agree...couldn't change this one*
One thing I can not stand... when people are constantly in a bad mood. it's okay to be in a mood once in a while, but come on people, life isn't that bad. get out of it!
Favorite way to waste a day...sitting on the beach with B, watch my kids play sports, or watch college/professional football/basketball
I am procrastinating...deep cleaning. topical/everyday cleaning is one thing, but then to add more cleaning on top since we have to do so much with all we do with the kids...it just sucks! can i get an amen?!
I'm optimistic about...that even though we sometimes feel we mess up horribly, that our kids will turn out fine, and even have a great life.
Something I see myself doing...being a Geek Squad nerd when the kids all move out, and B & I start traveling with her travel nurse job. Seriously, what else will I do? Not like I'm gonna stay at home and shop!
Biggest fear today...losing my wife or children. i want God to take me first. it's the natural order of things. just don't take me too early. i plan to hopefully be here another 60 years or so. ;)
