If you had 15 minutes of uninterrupted time, what would you do, when would you do it, and where?
The typical answers are, a nap, read, a massage (which I'd go for), but I think I'd say that I'd do absolutely nothing...in a pitch-black room, that's soundproof. I am so A.D.D. that the smallest thing takes my attention away from what I'm trying to work on, and makes me totally space off, concentrating on that thing and forgetting what I'm doing. In this day and age, and in my fast-paced I.T. world, I'm always "connected", so I feel like I'm always "on". I'm constantly searching for new things coming down the pipe of Silicon Valley, all the new gadgets, pc's, software, etc, that I can use to implement and stay on pace with technology. It's hard being a one-man I.T. shop, because it means I have to do it all myself, and not really get to rely on too many people to help me. My Director helps a bit, but it's a lot to keep up with since the I.T. world is evolving at breakneck pace right now, with it only looking to get worse. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what I do, and I LOVE getting to do it where I do, but with always having to feel like I need to stay abreast of every little thing going on, I never think about "hey, I should just unplug and focus on praying or meditating and having some quiet, peaceful time". I'm working on getting myself more in the Word more, because of a Christian person I follow on FB who put up a post that said "Like this post if you believe you should get into the Word before you eat Breakfast". I've always wanted to do that, and have said that I need to do it, but something in that post just hit home and I've been trying to do it each morning. I'm only "mostly" following that advice, but it's better than nothing.
So, as I said, I think I'd just like some quiet, peaceful, downtime, in a pitch-black, soundproof room.
Check me out...two posts in a row. I don't know if I did that at all last year! ;)
