Christmas time is here...

Christmas, one of the best times to sit back and reflect on the important things in life. The birth of the baby Jesus...all 7lbs 9oz of him (sorry, that's a little Ricky Bobby for everyone). Friends and family. Health. Love. Laughter of children. Holiday foods. Losing the holiday weight. Mistletoe with the Mrs over and over and over and over and OVER again. ;) But if you know me at all, you know that when Christmas comes around, it's time to bust out the Christmas cd's, and so here is a list of my top five favorite Christmas cd's.

1. Mercy Me - The Christmas Sessions
2. Boyz 2 Men - Christmas Interpretations
3. Fred Hammond Christmas - Just Remember
4. A Charlie Brown Christmas
5. Ding, Fries are Done

Since I was an only child, I was always one to "want" a lot for Christmas, but as I've gotten married, and especially since I've gotten children, my list has gotten smaller and smaller for things I "want" for Christmas. This year, I really only have a couple things I wanted...1) The Bible Experience . It's basically an updated audio bible of the New Testament, but with many famous actors which I think will help make it come alive even more! 2) The Burning Crusade expansion pack for my computer game I play, World of Warcraft. I already pre-bought this a long time ago, so it's not really something I can get now, nor something someone should buy me, but it's something I wanted and that should have came out by now, but is being pushed back a bit. And then lastly, I'm getting into golf lately, and just frustrated with the shortness of the clubs I have, so some longer clubs I can actually play with. That being so expensive though, it probably won't happen. Plus, you can't just buy clubs for someone my height. I need to get measured and then go from there. Luckily though, if anyone is reading this, I DID get measured the other day and my clubs should be +1", but I think I should go with +2", that way I can choke up if I feel they're too long, or have them recut which wouldn't be a problem.

On to my "needs". It's basically the same as every year...clothes for work, play, workout, etc. And that's it. We're going to be spending time alone as a family this year, and so I'm very happy that we get to do it like I did when I was a kid, except we don't have to rush anywhere. The kids can open their presents and B and I can just sit back in our pj's and enjoy watching them. That's the best gift for me. Maybe we'll do something different this year and have the kids open a present every 15 mins or half hour...let them play with a present for a bit, and let Christmas morning go a little longer than it does.

The real reason for the season though, is Jesus. Please, don't forget that, people. Take many moments this December 25th, and get through all the hoopla of the materialism, the stress headaches, the full stomachs, the two naps, any anything else that's in the way, and give thanks to the One who gives us reason to celebrate.

God bless you all,
E

Belinda's friend Jen, here in Des Moines.

If you're ever back in Des Moines, I know someone that makes custom-fit golf clubs. I got some for my hubby a couple years ago, and they were about $400 for the set. I didn't think that was a bad deal, since they were custom-made.

I enjoy checking in on your blog, and kinda found my to it through B's site. Great reading, and you need to post more!
