Next Thursday, the 26th, will be the KSBJ 25th Anniversary concert in The Woodlands, at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion. I've talked about this place before, and how amazing it is! It's a huge ampitheater, with the front portion being covered by a roof, and then the back part being a huge open lawn for people to sit anywhere. The artists will be: Connersvine (new group featuring Indianapolis Colts punter, Hunter Smith), singer Mandisa (of American Idol fame), Isreal & the New Breed, Mercy Me, and Toby Mac. It should be an amazing concert! I'll be there bright and early to set up our remote gear (if not the night before), since we'll be broadcasting all day from the venue. It will be a LONG day for me though, since I won't have anything to do but sit there and make sure everything runs fine, and fix any issues that arise.
I had a great idea to kind of replicate this video (it's got a few bad words, but what a great idea behind it all), but with a Christian song, and our entire staff doing the lipsynching. I proposed the idea to our president, as well as our Special Events management staff and they loved the idea! They in-turn proposed it to the management staff in their Monday morning meeting, and it went over with flying colors. SO, my whole week has been basically doing nothing but figure out what song I want to use, what arrangement of the song I want to use, where I want the video to be shot, how I want it to be shot, when I want it to be shot, where to put people, what to add to the video pre/post production, etc. You could call me the Hype Williams (famous hip hop video director) of KSBJ video right now. If that wasn't enough on my plate to do, I've got to have it all DONE by this Friday! So, I'm trying to help Brent do regular IT stuff, but he's being more than okay with me mostly focusing on this project. Everything is looking good so far, but I forgot my stupid Zen at home, so I've got to walk around listening to my laptop. Ugh. Please drop some prayers I can figure out how to do this like I really want, and to put together a great video that represents KSBJ in a positive light, and that it's well received when the 20,000 people at the concert see it! That's right, they're going to play it at the concert, and I've included something at the end to introduce Toby Mac! YOUR BOY, E, IS GOING TO BE BEHIND INTRODUCING TOBY MAC! I'm crazy nervous, excited, naucious, etc.
Filming will be this Friday, so when I get it done, I'll make sure to slap a copy of it on here for you all to see, and to let me know what you all think of it!
On cloud nine!
E
