Middle school kids can now get birth control without parental notice.
I don't know how the school system can intervene here and say that it's okay for any of their students to go ahead and do that and not have parental consent. They say they have to get parental consent, but it looks to be a form they fill out. Yeah, I'm pretty sure any student that old can think to forge a signature or whatever else they need to get what they want. The answer isn't to get them on birth control, the answer is for these parents to step up and be parents. We're talking about kids as young as fricking ELEVEN years old to be on the pill. ELEVEN YEARS OLD. That is a KID...a KID, people. I'm disgusted. Yes, I was way too young when I was first involved sexually, and I won't disclose that information, which is why I plan to be a more positive, informative, supportive parent earlier rather than later. These kids need to know that sex isn't something you just do because you have a penis, a vagina, and the urge to see what it feels like. Sex is a blessing, and something that they need to see as such, and see it for what it is...a way for a (hopefully) married couple to connect even deeper. To cherish the person they are having sex with as not just a thing to receive gratification sexually, but to bond with that person in a way that you cannot with any other person. If you don't treat it that way, that it is an amazing thing to participate, and that you cheapen it if you don't hold it in that regard, then it becomes nothing more than what it is in most of the world nowadays.
I'll get off my pedastol now. I'm too worked up over seeing this. Praying for the parents of this area, the children, and the people involved with spreading this whole program...as well as the rest of the world where people have cheapened sex.
