Down down down...the weight's still goin' down!

I dropped another four pounds this week! Working out more, by running a few times, lifting weights now, and a few other random workouts. Each time I got to the Y this week, I tried burn as close, or over 800 calories. I read an article saying that after a hard workout, your body continues to burn calories for potentially up to 36 hrs later. Of course it dwindles over time, and it's not burning as fast, but coupling that, with eat a lot better than I have been lately, it made for a good week. I also really focused on slamming water this week, as I felt I was getting away from that a bit. So I focused on getting at least 120 oz of water each day and usually ended up getting closer to 150-160. I know, some of you are like "blah blah blah", but I also know some of you are wanting to know what I'm doing to lose this weight, and so this is it. I've gone away from the biggestloserclub.com recipes mostly, but only because I just haven't had time to do them because with working out at the Y, that takes up time to get there and back, and so I need something quicker those nights.

Well, J came in and had a huge fit over something trivial, and so my thought process is totally lost now. So anyway, here's my current progress...

Beginning Weight: 328
Current Weight: 280
Weight Lost: 48 lbs!!!

One more until I am in the 270's, and two more until I hit the 50 lb mark!

Hope you all have a nice long, and relaxing Holiday weekend.

Congrats on the weight loss.

I try the tough workouts but I am so beat I can't workout for days.

I am also female so the weight doesn't quite come off as easy.

How long are these 800 calorie workouts? Do you have a trainer?

Thanks.

First of all, let me say that Chicago is my favorite city in the whole world! LOVE IT!

Secondly, you've got to fight through the pain at first, because if you don't, then it will hurt longer. If you workout the day after you first do, it will hurt, but not as much as if you wait a day. The acid builds up in your muscles, which makes them hurt. By working out, you expell the acid a bit, making the pain go away faster. Pretty soon (and trust me, it's way sooner than you will think), the pain will go away and you will only be tired after workouts, which you should be. :)

My 800 calorie workouts are only about an hour. I burned upwards of 600 calories on the elliptical machine. Currently I push it to lvl 15 or 16 (out of 20) for the entire time, with a cooldown period of five minutes afterwards, on level 11 or 12, to bring my heart down. Then I either lift weights for another 20-30 mins (depends on how fast I can get through all the machines my Y has), or run/walk on my off days for 15-20 mins. Get an mp3 player, or find/put something on tv (or read) to get your mind off the workout, and it will fly by fast! I have a few different cd's I listen to, and by working on singing the songs in my head, the time flies by and I'm done. I look forward to my workouts so much now. To put it into perspective, when I started, i couldn't do the elliptical on the lowest setting for more than 10 minutes. With being a younger guy (early 30's), I was disgusted with myself, and so that only added to the motivation. Finding a good support "group" (ie: friends who will get on your case and not be friendly -albeit all in love- when you slack off, or gettingtogether with a group on a website like biggestloserclub.com) is CRUCIAL! Very few people can do this all on our own at first. You need that support to celebrate your victories and to lift you up when you struggle. The group I was in on blc.com and the experts they have on there that answer nutrition and fitness questions are priceless! It might take a few days to get back to you, but they do. Good luck, Talu!
