Last night, after getting home from work, Jaelyn had something she wanted to show me. So, we went outside and she wanted me to watch her ride her bike. A week or so ago she wanted me to take off her training wheels. I fought her a little bit, only because she hadn't rode on her bike in a LONG time, and wanted her to try a little more with the wheels on before going solo. She didn't want anything to do with it, and in less than a week, after much determination, she showed me last night that she can ride all the way around the big island in front of our house! She even did it a second time! I was a proud papa! I don't think you could have wiped the smile from my face, and the excitement I had towards my daughter! Way to go Jaelyn!!!
Later we decided to hit the pool. If a child who looks too young to swim without a parent/adult there to help him/her wants to swim/come to the pool by themself, they have to pass a test. They have to swim one whole lap, and then tread water for a minute. Well, Avery passed the test last night, earning him a yellow bracelet he has to wear if he comes by himself, and it says that he's an official "tadpole". It was awesome to see him go through that test. Both B and I were so proud of him! B especially, with her swim team background, was proud to see her baby do so well. She said "if he or any of the kids would ever join swim team, that would make me the happiest mom in the world." I see that coming to fruition soon, as Avery was proud of himself and even more glowing when he heard our praises. Way to go Avery!!!
It was a good night for the Sheldons! Two huge firsts! Good job Jaelyn and Avery!

If they join the swim club, get ready to have them there at 6:00AM.. Don't count on us for anything that early. We'll show up at the last match of the day! LOL
