Last post before bed - 12:10am

It's 12:10am, and everyone is finally going to bed. I wanted to hop on and check last minute info before doing the same since I don't have any cell reception where I'm sleeping, and most likely when I wake up (or get woken up), there won't be any power. Here is a current 3D model of what we're seeing right now.


Chaos is starting. From what I have read, there is already one or two deaths from Ike. A 19 yr old drowned trying to escape. Many large fires are going on in Galveston. And already 500,000+ people are without power. The station lost power for a few seconds, but it then came back on. I'll be saying a lot of prayers before I go to bed. As I'm typing this, the power just flickered again, so I need to get this post done and up before it goes.

Here is a satellite view of where it's at right now. We're in the thick of the middle bands of the hurricane. The eye is just about to hit Galveston, which means that's when it will get the worst of the winds. I think we're supposed to see the eye here in Humble around 2am or so. I feel for the DJ's who are awake. Humble is about where the top part of the letter "N" in Houston below.
