Perfection for an MVP, Bikes for a Tri, and watch out for AT&T diggers!!!

Saturday was Avery's last basketball game in his league, and his team finished UNDEFEATED! If that wasn't awesome enough, he scored 28 of the team's 32 points! Is that sick or what?! That boy was amazing! I loved seeing him do well, and know that there was a lot of talent on his team, but still...proud papa...THIS GUY!

B and I got new bikes for the triathlon coming up this June, and we couldn't be even more excited about the whole thing! One of the nicest things about bikes is how much customizing you can do to individual pieces on it. The reason I say that is because I can see both of us customizing a few pieces if not before, but after the triathlon. We'll see though, maybe we just gotta get used to them. I can already see how I would prefer a road bike vs my hybrid, if I planned on getting into serious triathlons or to beat times on another sprint triathlon, but I LOVE my bike! As you can tell in the pic, B loves hers too!

Here's a closer pic of the bike for my mans, Doug E Fresh and Kenjamin, back home. It's the 2008 Specialized Crosstrail (not that it matters to me, but I know they'll know it's something). I was going to go with something cheap at Wal-Mart, but none of the bikes fit me because of my height. This bike was only about $100 more than what I spent on B's, so all in all, that's a lot to be said. The cheapest bike I could find at the bike store for B was DOUBLE what mine cost. What in the world?!?!?!

AT&T Gas Main Fire from Erik on Vimeo.

AT&T workers were digging for some reason, three houses down from our house, and hit a main gas line. This is the best video I could get. I put three quick videos together to show all I could, and the last little one shows the flames through a privacy fence. There were ambulances, police, fire trucks, and even haz-mat on the scene. A news helicopter was flying around the neighborhood as well. The scene was so bizarre that the whole neighborhood was out and about. The helicopter view showed a better view, but I couldn't find it online yet. The hole is about 10 feet wide, and about 10 feet deep, so the flames were shooting about 15 feet in the air, but only about 5 feet or so above ground. So this isn't the best footage, but more so for my friends who weren't around.

With me taking off Facebook during the Lenten season (even though I'm not Catholic), I hopefully will be posting more on here. If you want to follow more of my day to day thoughts, you can follow me on http://www.twitter.com/esheldon76 , or you can check back here and scroll through my Twitter posts on the left hand side.

Check y'all later!
