Well, I didn't post any pictures from NAB, because it wasn't worth taking any pictures of. It was a simple show with tons of people there. Felt like the varied industries building at the "Fair", but only focused towards radio broadcast engineers. I had a nice time, and it was interesting, but I was feeling ill, so I only stayed on the floor looking around for about four hours the first day. After I had my fill, I walked back to the hotel, plugged in the comp, then watched some tv. After battling with the "wireless" they had, I decided to get off the pc, and just do some reading. I wanted to have a spiritual night, but I couldn't get the desire to read any of the Word, so I got out this comic book series I received from a local Christian comic book company, and read it. The art was on par from what I used to know of the comic book world, and the dialogue was well written also. The only problem was that it was a 9 book series, and it really could have been a 3-4 book series. All in all though, it was a good read, and hopefully it will impact lives.
The second day was pretty much over before it started. I went in to the floor, walked around, talked to a few vendors I wanted to talk to, and then was done. I didn't need to talk to anyone else, because we're blessed enough at the station to have all the new radio toys that we need/want. So, I did some shopping for the fam, and then hung out in the lobby, did some networking, and then waited for George and Bob to be done with their agenda. A couple hours went by and I realized that I should have driven myself. If I did, I probably would have been back by noon or so. We got back into town early evening, and it was good to see the fam again. It's nice to have some breaks to appreciate them all the more. I think they feel the same.
I've been battling some cold for the past week now as well as a hip issue. I don't know what I did, but the pain seems to be resinating from the socket area of my right hip. I did some research on webmd.com and it's either a muscle pull/tear, or cartilage has eroded to a point of where I can feel it being gone. Let's just hope for a muscle pull. It's not an issue that hurts all the time, just when I turn certain ways, do certain things.
Yesterday, my dad, Erik Sr, turned the ripe old age of 51. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, POPS! I hope to be in as good of shape as he is when I turn 51. And speaking of looking good when you're older, Belinda had a patient at work that was down as being 79, but when B came in to see her, she said she looked no older that 40! Man, what a compliment that would be to knock off 39 years! HA!
Well, it's Monday afternoon, and it's been crazy today. It was crazy all weekend as well. We're getting ready for Jim and Shelly to come down this Thursday night to Sunday. Should be a fun time, I just hate the "pre-cleaning". You know, the cleaning where you want everything to be perfect, and so you stress about it even when you're done and everything looks good. And then in a day, it's all dirty again. HA! Oh well. The weather has been AMAZING the past few days, so I'm praying for it to stay that way while they're here. We'll do the usual, I'm sure, hit the ocean, maybe the Kemah Boardwalk, hit downtown, etc.
I gotta get back to work, so I'll catch you later.
