Wake me up, before you go go.

Tired. Ugh. I am NOT a morning person. The only time I enjoy getting up is:

-If I'm going to meet a friend for breakfast
-Going somewhere fun with B and/or the kids
-or-
-If I know that I will be partaking in some Starbucks goodness shortly after

I just don't like to get up. When I get up, it's usually mixed with a lot of pain in my back. Having three bulging discs in my lower back sucks. They loosen up and the pain lessens as the day goes along, so that helps, but still. The initial getting out of bed is usually one of the worst parts of my day. It's all good though, because with having this pain for the last 10 years or so, it's become part of the routine of the day and doesn't phase me like it used to. Today it's a little more sore than normal though. Good thing I have Raisin Bran to offer something positive to the morning of getting kids ready for school (they drag their feet until it's time to go, EVERY STINKING MORNING...drives me NUTS!).

Speaking of cereal, it's fun to look back and remember all the fun cereals that I used to love. See if you feel the same. The first cereal that I can remember loving was Fruity Pebbles. My dad always had some of them and I loved 'em...that is until they were in milk for more than five seconds, because then they were a soggy mush and gross. Then came all the various marshmallow cereals...Lucky Charms, Count Chocula, Franken Berries, and then the Boo Berries or whatever the blueberry Count Chocula-type cereal was. That one was my favorite. Of course, the champion of childrens cereals, Captain Crunch came next. My favorite Cap'n Crunch were the Peanut Butter ones. Mmmmmm. I think I dabbled with most kids cereals out there at one time or another. Whoever had the best toy, or the chance for a million dollar shopping spree so I could get all the transformers and GI Joe's. Stuff like that. Nowadays though, I'm not really a cereal guy anymore. I rather prefer something hot, like McMuffins from McD's, Kolaches (got hooked on them down here since they don't make them in Iowa that I remember), biscuits and gravy, etc. You know, basically anything that's not healthy for you to eat. Lately though, like I mentioned earlier in the post, I've been about the Raisin Bran. Saw some in the store the other day and snatched 'em right up. I love how it tastes good, and is healthy for you. I don't need the bran to "help me out" though. I'm all good in the bodily bran functions! LOL! Just eating 'em because I like 'em.

With only a week before we start the trek back home, we're excited yet already tired from looking at our schedule. We are so busy with B's sister's wedding that we don't have much time to see other family friends like we'd fully like to. It's gonna be awesome to see Aut all beautiful, getting married and all, so that will be sweet, but I told B that we're not coming back for anything but to see family and friends next year. I love going to weddings, but both times we've came back since moving here, we've had to come back and devote 2-4 days of our time back for wedding stuff. I don't HATE that, so don't misinterpret what I'm saying. I just want to come back and not have any events that take up days of our time. We're going to be super rushed to see everyone that we can when we get back this time, that we're already tired just looking at our schedule. We won't be able to see half the people we want to, so if you're reading this post and we haven't talked to you about seeing you, then it's either because we haven't gotten to you on the list yet about getting a time nailed down, or because (I'm so sorry to say this) we just don't have enough time this trip. I almost feel like saying "ATTENTION: B & I and the kids will be at (insert park here) at (such and such) o'clock. If you'd like to see us while we're in town, come on out." We are blessed to have so many people that we care about and that care about us, so it's not an overwhelmed feeling of "gosh, we have to see so many people." No, it's a "man, it sucks we can't see everyone!" type of feeling.

Well, it's 7:50am and the kids STILL aren't ready, so it's time to put some pressure on 'em.

Peace out, and remember to tip your waiters,
E
