Heroes

I finally caught up on a bunch of DVR'in last night. Survivor, The Unit, Lost, and Heroes. It's nice to free up some space on the DVR, and to get caught up on my shows in case I run across something on the web that would spoil a past episode or two that I hadn't watched.

While watching "Heroes", a thought kept nagging at the back of my mind..."Permanent adrenaline rush". If there were any people that had actual super powers, I think we all can say that a permanent adrenaline rush would be the aftermath of such a discovery. I think the reason so much of us are watching and falling in love with the show is because we all wish we could be a hero. Someone who would have the courage to do what needed to be done. To step in where others would not. To save the situation from whatever dire circumstance is prevailing at the time. The desire to be a hero to someone.

I get the same feeling when I see a powerful Christian music video. One like Kirk Franklin's "Imagine Me", a few others, and then a new one I saw last night by Krystal Meyers titled "Halleluah". The boldness they profess. The fire in their eyes. You see the passion on their sleeve. To have that fearlessness and to be able to live it is what I desire. To live like THE Hero of the bible, Jesus, and the other heroes that have come and gone. To lose the spirit of meek and mildness. To lose the feelings of inadequicy. To put on the full armor of God and live a life to the fullest. To be a hope to my wife and children.

To be a warrior and to rise up with wings when needed.

Just some thoughts in the back of my head lately.

God bless,
E
