It sure is nice and quiet right now.

This whole week Brent is gone on a missions trip. Nice for me because it means that my office has room for a whole week. My door can be closed and it's just me in the office. I can focus on some stuff and not hear anything else in the room if I don't want to hear it. I can catch up on some reading I've needed to do for some software/hardware, listen to some IT podcasts, work on some new technology I'd like to look at, etc. It's gonna be a good week!

At home, the Wii fun has been going strong still. We've played the Wii sports disk a bunch, and saw that there is also a "fitness" option on there. I've heard of people losing weight by playing the Wii, but I was somewhat skeptical. I'll be checking that out soon. The biggest game I've been into has been "Super Paper Mario". It's been pretty amazing to see where Mario has come to on the new console, and all the amazing features they've thrown into a simple concept game to make it appeal to all ages, and all skill levels. The ability to go from 2D to 3D at any point in the game makes for some pretty cool ways to hide things. I know I go almost frame by frame, 2D to 3D just to make sure I find everything. I can see this game taking me a while to finish. Avery went with his grandmother to pick out a new game yesterday and he ended up with the "Ratitouie" game based on the movie. I don't know why he picked that one out, since we haven't even seen the movie (which looks horrible, but I'll see it anyway since it's a Pixar flick). We haven't played it yet, and I was worried that it would be another 1 player game like Mario is (which is against the reason I bought this system for our family in the first place - so we can all play together), but it looks like there are a bunch of multi-player games on there. I'm really interested in seeing how "Big Brain Academy" is for more than just a game or two. It's a thinking game I got for us, that way we can use our mind as well as our motions to play a game on there. I really wanted to get this system to get us off the couches, spend more time together as a family, and have some fun to boot. Check me out, being all "head of the family"-like and all. ;)

This past Saturday we played our last softball game for the KSBJ softball team's season. We played at a softball park called "Big League Dreams". It's basically a softball complex where each field is based to look like an actual famous baseball park. There's Yankee Stadium (New York), Fenway Park (Boston), Busch Stadium (St Louis), a couple others I didn't see, and then also Wrigley Field (CUBBIES!) where we played (thanks to me bugging them! HA!). It was a blast to play on! The field was amazing condition. The dugouts were modeled kind of like the actual ones too. The coolest part of all though, was the outfield wall was complete with IVY(!!!) and it also had the Wrigley scoreboard, as well as the bleachers on the buildings behind the stadium like they really have in Chicago! It was an amazing experience. The best part of it all though, was that I got to experience it with Belinda playing (and batting) alongside me! My baby played right field to start out, then moved to third base. I started out pitching, and then moved to my rightful place at first base. Belinda turned a play to get a guy out at first that was amazing! One of the best plays I've ever seen. My baby can ball, ya'll! We got blown out, which seems to be the norm with the KSBJ team this year, so I'm glad we're done. I hope the 2nd Baptist team we're playing on this Sunday is a little better. I don't need a team that blows other teams away, but one that at least stays competitive and wants to be there each week. I think the highlight of my season came during our last game at Wrigley, where at my first bat I ripped a TRIPLE! That's right, this fatty pulled out a standing-up triple! Uh huh, go E, it's my birthday! I had a great game until my last at bat. My back was acting up really bad (I shouldn't have played, but I didn't know if/when I'd get to play at that park again so I played through the pain). I walked my previous at bat, and so the crowd was "heckling" me (we were playing a church, so it was all in good fun). They were saying "He won't swing, throw him a strike". Then another guy was like "Be quiet, I want to see him crush it!" I decided to just swing for the fences and try and put one out, since I didn't swing that hard and got a triple earlier. I then totally forgot the stuff that got me out of my slump...I dipped my back shoulder, and sure enough, I popped out. Duh. Oh well. It was a lasting experience, and when we get our pics put on the pc, I'll upload some for you all to see.

Speaking of things for you all to see, make sure you check out my youtube space for a bunch of videos I uploaded. Here is the one I did from the Wrigley Field experience. Watch for a quick cameo of B right at the beginning.

Well, time to start doing some research.
