KSBJ Hope Line

Today we introduced a phone number for people to call if they need help finding water, ice, gas, shelter, food, etc. We're calling it the KSBJ "Hope Line". It's getting desperate down here, and I think the only reason it isn't worse is because the temperature has been FABULOUS! Low 80's during the day, low 60's during the night. This number, though, is to help people find what they need, or at least point them closer in that direction. Supplies get shipped in and are gone very soon after, so we just pray the people get what they need. There are many people who are disabled, who cannot fend for themselves, yet are still living by themselves and are trapped or cannot seek help. It's been very hard to hear those stories, but we then try to find some help and send it their way. I've been on our main phone line taking hundreds of calls since about 6am this morning, and it's been a humbling experience, since we are blessed to have power and at least running (although not drinkable) water at our house.

Brent and I have been manning this main phone, both of us on a microphone, but I have been running the sound board and using the computer to look up stuff, and Brent is sitting on another computer handling all the data requests. It's been crazy, but amazing. We've even been recording between calls and having fun with our own little morning show/podcast. People have been walking by and saying how hilarious we were and how we really need to have our own morning show. I wonder what that would be like? From what we've done today...HILARIOUS! :D I'll post some of it once we've cleaned it up. Might be a few days though, since we're busy with the "Hope Line".

Alright, just wanted to post quick and let everyone know that we are doing fine. We have tons of canned goods thanks to my awesome wife, and spirits are high! We have power and that's more than enough right now! The only downside to this whole Ike thing going for me right now is that I'm sure I have been gaining weight! I've been so tired from working long hours that I have no time or energy to work out. Ugh. Oh well, no worries!

God bless!

I'm so glad to hear that you're ministering to people's entire body, and not just their spirit. Way to live out James!!

We're going to NY for Nicole's family reunion. It's near Syracuse (actually Oneida where all the cool silverware is made).
